Foster + Partners has shared photos of its just-finished MOL Group corporate headquarters campus in Budapest after a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held last week in the Hungarian capital.
At 143 meters (469 feet), the design is a collaboration with Finta Studio and now the city’s tallest construction with space for 2,500 employees of the energy company in addition to two restaurants, a 29th-floor observation deck, gym, and visitors center.
The interior floor plans are designed for maximum flexibility following the Activity-Based Workplace (ABW) model. Finally, its claims to be a “bastion of modern architecture and sustainability” are bolstered by rainwater harvesting capabilities, a greywater recycling system, geothermal heating system, and 900 solar panels.
“As we see the nature of the workplace changing to a more collaborative vision, we have combined two buildings — a tower and a podium — into a singular form, bound by nature,” London studio head Nigel Dancey describes. “As the tower and the podium start to become one element, there is a sense of connectivity throughout the office spaces, with garden spaces linking each of the floors together.”
Once formally in use in the spring, the building will join Warsaw’s new Varso Tower — now the tallest building in the EU — as Foster + Partners’ second record-breaking tower to open this year. Other high-rise office projects were recently completed in Shenzhen, Kuwait, and Manhattan.

I think I really like it. Looks really refined, though I'm not sure if I'm a fan of how the top of the tower was treated. I'm curious whats happening on those floors where the podium curves up to form the tower. Is there an atrium there or is there just a couple floors of office space where the wall is at a massive angle?
