The MIT Master of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) offers an unparalleled education in real estate practice. Our groundbreaking MSRED degree presents a program that is rigorous, concentrated, multidisciplinary and geared toward direct application.
Candidates for the MSRED degree come to the Program with several years of experience within the built environment. The program offers students a chance to sharpen their skills by working with other professionals of exceptional promise. Building partnerships that will last long after graduation, MSRED students learn team building in an international context, applying research to real-world problems in a disciplined and intellectual framework.

Closing the GAAP
In addition, to further the Center for Real Estate’s mission to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the real estate industry, applicants may avail themselves to the Center for Real Estate’s Graduate Application Assistance Program (GAAP), called Closing the GAAP.
Closing the GAAP is a volunteer-based, student-run program that provides assistance to applicants from communities historically underrepresented in higher education and the real estate industry.
Applicants are paired with a graduate student who can provide feedback on an application material of their choosing (Resume/CV; Statement of Objectives; Portfolio/Work Sample) to help create a stronger application.
You may find more information about Closing the GAAP and how to take part by visiting us here.
