The 2021 edition of the annual QS World University Rankings by higher education analysis firm QS Quacquarelli Symonds has just been released. The research analyzed nearly 14,000 individual university programs from 1,440 universities across 85 locations around the world.
Within the subject of Architecture, the latest ranking confirms the same five schools defending the top five spots for several years now: MIT, UCL, TU Delft, ETH Zürich, and Harvard (in slightly varying order).
Moving up into the top ten in 2021 are Beijing's Tsinghua University and National University of Singapore. Dropping down from the top spots this year are Manchester School of Architecture and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Here are the ten top-ranked universities with architecture schools according to QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021:

ranking architecture schools by paper citations seems like a lame method. this one seems oriented to global elite hubs like NY, London. Tokyo, etc not actually architecture hubs
These rankings are total garbage. At least one didn't make up architecture departments like the one that somehow ranked Stanford's imaginary architecture school.
I propose a new ranking system.
A score from the flowing 6 criteria:
1. Average income from your first 20 years divided by the average student debt. (students who get free tuition or non academic merit based scholarships are excluded from the calculation)
2. The Number of years to archive a degree divided by 4 for Bachelors and 6 for masters. (PHD not included in calculation)
3. The percentage of graduates who are employed in architecture and design industry
4. the number of graduates who become registered architects
5. A measure of health and mental health.
6 The percentage of faculty who are registered architects with built work.
Just my thoughts on what should be important and determinate of rankings, I am probably missing other good criteria but these 6 are important.

Those are good metrics.
How about several kegs of beer and a dartboard?
most people don't like these rankings because the school that they paid all that money to isn't even on it :-P
Conversely, I love these rankings because my undergrad is always on the list, but the lists are always based on the far better M.Arch. But most employers don't know that ;)
UCSB's top rank program is a programming degree.
Is that where you were programmed?
