In response to the idea of the “city of tomorrow,” one that will become carbon neutral by 2050, French architecture firm Rescubika created a proposal for a 2,418-foot tower on Roosevelt Island. With wood construction materials, 36 wind turbines, 8,300 shrubs, 1,600 tress, 83,000 square feet of plant walls, and nearly 23,000 square feet of solar panels, it would be the world’s tallest “carbon sink” tower–one that absorbs more CO2 than it releases. — 6sqft

Reminiscent of a cruise ship with an erection. Terrible combination of greenwashing and design-by-bim.
Yes, but what an erection!
New meaning for The Love Boat...
This is a rendering company - NOT an architecture firm. The headline is VERY misleading. And since they are not architects, let's cut them some slack - the only "design" is here are the renders and the press release sent to websites like 6sqft. Pump up the numbers, kid.
Yes, this is one of the growing number of "Hey, someone posted a ridiculous rendering somewhere-- let's put it up on Archinect as if it's a real project" items. Some editorial discretion would be welcome.
they make it look so easy, just think of a design bam done!
i love the queensboro bridge, so clunky and fussy. extra points for featuring it gratuitously in this rendering.
Why would you even post this?
I prefer the existing Paul Rudolph masterpieces thanks
Have they not heard about that green-washed tower in China that's empty due to a mosquito-infestation problem?
This completely covers what is basically the only park/public space in the area...
