The homes of wealthy Americans are responsible for about 25% more greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions than low-income households, according to a new study released Monday by University of Michigan researchers. — Smart Cities Dive
The study, writes Smart Cities Dive's Jason Plautz, found the GHG impact of U.S. homes is lowest in Western states and highest in Central states, and the carbon footprint of wealthy neighborhoods can be as much as 15 times higher than lower-income areas. CoreLogic, a database of tax assessor records was used to analyze the carbon footprint of roughly 93 million homes, Smart Cities Dive reports.

And yet another reason to implement a 'carbon' taxation scheme!
The money shot from the article:
"Meeting the Paris Agreement target of an 80% emissions reduction by 2050 will require energy efficient retrofits for homes and a transition to smaller homes and denser developments to reduce the carbon footprint of the housing sector, the researchers found."
No more multiple mansions for Al Gore and Bernie!

No more multiple mansions for Betsy Devos and Donald Trump and Rex Tillerson and Wilbur Ross and Ben Carson and Sheldon Adelson and Charles Koch and David Koch and Paul Singer and Robert Mercer and Diana Mercer and Ronald Cameron and Nina Cameron and Jeffery Yass and Bernard Marcus and Charles Schwab and Warren Stephens and Geoff Palmer and Steve Wynn and Foster Friess and Woody Johnson and Norman Braman and Ken Langone and Joe Ricketts and Peter Thiel and... and... and... and...
I have never seen a movement where the leaders don't even try to lead but shove their opulent lifestyles in everyone's face. "Let's take the corporate jet to the climate conference in Switzerland, Michelle! It's tax deductible. We can discuss the too big house for the family with four kids and with granny living upstairs. They are prime for the carbon tax. We always know best. Just ask us"
God seriously Betsy DeVos' house is THE MOST OFFENSIVE thing I have ever seen.
