The Harvard University Graduate School of Design's Design Nexus group has launched a new podcast, The Nexus, meant to highlight the work and roles of Black architects and designers.
Created in collaboration between the school's African American Student Union and the Frances Loeb Library, the podcast is hosted by GSD students Tara Oluwafemi and Caleb Negash and stems out of Design Nexus's work as a "preeminent resource for those interested in the intersection of Blackness and design practices throughout the built environment as well as those represented in 'public art, fashion, music, movies and other media,'" according to a Harvard GSD blog post.
The Nexus’s inaugural episode features an interview with Boston-based architect, filmmaker, illustrator, and children’s book author Aisha Densmore-Bey and is set to engage in future discussions with other Black designers, including Stephen Gray, De Nichols, and Trenton Doyle Hancock.
