The Moscow Architecture School (MARCH) will be hosting Architectural (De)Schooling in the Age of Quarantine this summer, a series of discussions around the question of whether or not we need architecture schools today, when all education can take place online.
Educators from various architecture schools will participate in the online public program which will take place in June and July. Nearly 20 online discussions will be held, featuring experts from different countries. Held on Zoom, and broadcasted on YouTube, faculty from MARCH, ETH Zurich, MIT, Columbia GSAPP, AA, TU Delft, and many others will be participating.
"Now, like never before, the conversation about architecture education is becoming relevant," said Alexander Ostrogorsky, public program curator at MARCH in a statement. "The brave new world, although we all tried to prepare for it ahead of time, came suddenly. Theoretical discussions instantly gained practical meaning. At this moment, it is essential not to reduce everything to technologies, digital or bureaucratic, but to look at the situation critically. This is the duty we set for ourselves and the guests of the program."
