Over the years, the Miami has become synonymous with its collection of ultra-luxe residential towers and its constantly evolving skyline. In fact, with over 300 skyscrapers situated across its various business, residential, and commercial districts, the city offers the "third-largest skyline" in the U.S. based on the number of high-rises, falling behind only Chicago and New York. Work on that skyline is continuing apace once again with the construction of 830 Brickell, a new 724-foot luxury commercial tower.
The Miami Herald reports the new office building will be the second tallest office tower in Miami-Dade County. Construction broke ground in 2019 at the site of the tower, which is designed by Chicago-based architecture firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill and features interior designs by Italian architecture firm Iosa Ghini Associati.
According to the firm's site, the project aims to reach LEED Silver certification in addition to promoting "out-of-the-box collaboration, work-life balance, and wellness" through its design.
Slated for Miami's Brickell neighborhood, an area known as the "Wall Street of Latin America" that functions as a lavish urban playground that brings business, tourists, and residents together in one place, the 57-story office tower will surely add to Miami's ultra-luxe corporate landscape. AS+GG is joined by Miami-based development firm OKO Group and investment firm Cain International in the tower's development. The project team aims to wrap-up construction by 2021. WeWork signed a 25-year lease back in 2019 to occupy 10 floors of the office tower; The development team has stated that WeWork's recent financial woes have not impacted the company's lease agreement or the project.
