In conjunction with the upcoming Chicago Architecture Biennial, Iker Gil and Luftwerk will present their collaborative light and sound installation at Mies van Der Rohe's Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois. Titled 'Geometry of Light,' the installation will cast red lasers onto the elements of the building to emphasize its openness while tracing its underlying geometric principles. Gil and Luftwerk recently unveiled a preview of the installation:

From October 11th to the 13th, visitors will be able to walk through the space in a total darkness made visible only by the faint glow of lasers and a minimalist sound installation.
The writer and artist collective exhibited the first installation of Geometry of Light this February at the Barcelona Pavilion, another small building by Mies with a similarly open plan. Of this previous installation, they wrote that its intentions were to animate "the travertine floor that extends beyond the steel-framed glass walls to accentuate the flowing space as it permeates through the interior and exterior."
In 2014, Luftwerk independently produced a digital projection installation in the Farnsworth House. Named INsite, the installation highlight[ed] the house's characteristic clean lines through site-specific digital video projections and original music compositions, thus rendering it into a new structure of light, sound, and space. In addition to recent preservation efforts to protect the Farnsworth from more floodwater damage in the future, INsite help[ed] revive public interest in an eye-catching way that is suitable for these tech-friendly times."
