The Guggenheim kicks off its jam-packed celebration of Frank Lloyd Wright's 150th birthday on Thursday. With a reduced admission of $1.50, you can check out the museum's newly renovated Cafe 3, which will feature large-scale, rarely seen photographs of the museum during its construction. Join a special architectural tour of the museum led by Ashley Mendelsohn, Curatorial Assistant of Architecture and Digital Initiatives, and maybe take a photo or two with an actor-historian who will portray Frank Lloyd Wright.

Created by prominent sculptor Anish Kapoor, Descension is “the result of intensive research into material and process, exploring the potential of water to behave in surprising ways. The continuous swirling motion of this 26-foot-diameter liquid mass converges in a central vortex, as if rushing water is being sucked into the earth’s depths.” Check it out at the Brooklyn Bridge Park now through September.
