U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has offered the post of secretary of housing and urban development to former presidential candidate Ben Carson, who will consider it over the Thanksgiving holiday, a Carson spokesman said on Tuesday.
"The president-elected asked him to consider it and he's considering it," Carson spokesman Armstrong Williams said. Carson, a retired surgeon, dropped out of the 2016 presidential race in March and backed Trump.

I want the person that gave this a "like" to explain the inexplicable. Cheeto Jesus told the NYT he was going to get experts in their respective fields, to fill out his cabinet, pray tell, what is this dopey brain surgeon's experience in housing and urban development? Did he stay at a Red Roof Inn in Detroit?
Experts in intentional inefficiency.
This is how typical republicans who don't believe in government run things.
Put people who have no knowledge, experience, or training and who do not believe in a department's mission in charge.
If you think this is bad, wait to you see who he appoints for the head of the EPA.
In reality though, this is imo camouflage.
The real problem is if he runs the country and his business at the same time.
To think people were worried about the Clinton Foundation.
it got 2 thumbs up now beta.
and was not me.
Drumpf is Aconstitutional. By August, Impeachment.
Olaf, you're already into your second-third sazerac.
no, high on tryptaphane or however you spell that
I think Dr. Carson was considered for HHS but Big Pharma and the insurance companies leaned on the banks who deal with Trump - and Trump then folded. The HUD slot is a consolation prize for Dr. Carson. Look for an industry hack to be HHS head.
Sessions or 1:1?
Please?
(Actually, this should be S.O.P.)
Marc! You're back!
It would be great to hear Dr. Carson on Sessions. I'm sure he'd have a lot to say about urbanism.
More likely he'd trope on how he lived in the inner city and rose up to buy a mcmansion in the country. So he understands what the "plight of the city" can be, but he would argue with hard work you too can be exceptional and live in the middle of nowhere and drive a car. Walkability is a question about the mail box.
and pyramids
Plus, he stabbed his mom, or some crazy shit like that.
You all know I'm on the Trump Train, but I also find this a very odd choice.
As near as I can figure, it's being motivated by one of the following:
I kind of suspect the answer is 4. But it's still a really weird choice. The nest of vipers at HUD needs a strong leader who is willing to take on the bureaucrats in order to flush it out. Carson does not strike me as a strong leader.
But I guess we'll see.
The only reason Trump would not put Dr. Carson in the HHS slot is if he was prevented from doing so by whoever pulls Trump's chains.
