Rendering by SOM, via Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Office.
Heavy hitters of the New York City architecture, planning, and urban design community will congregate for this public summit on Wednesday to discuss how to rebuild Penn Station, overcome the not-insignificant challenges, and make the iconic station a transit hub fit for the city's future. Panelists include Susan Chin, Robert Eisenstat, Gina Pollara, John Schettino, and Tom Wright.
Augmented Reality Beyond Pokemon Go | November 2, recommended by Amelia Taylor-Hochberg
Pokemon Go succeeded where Google Glass failed, making AR-technology accessible (and highly addictive) to people all around the world. But it's just the tip of the iceberg, as this panel discussion seeks to understand and show just how wide AR's reach will be in the imminent future.

The first U.S. exhibition of French architect and designer Pierre Chareau will feature an array of rarely-seen works and milestone projects like the Maison de Verre in Paris, “showcas[ing] his beautiful pieces in a fuller cultural context between the wars”. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the exhibition will also look back at Chareau's arts patronage and his struggles like escaping Nazi persecution, the dispersal of many of his works during and after World War II, and his attempts to rebuild his career in New York.
Also keep track of our weekly event picks for Los Angeles and London.
