Folly 2016: Sticks | Opening on July 9, recommended by Nicholas Korody
Josh de Sousa and Nancy Hou of Hou de Sousa won this year's annual Folly competition hosted by Socrates Sculpture Park and The Architectural League. Their installation, which will serve as a hub for Socrates Sculpture Park’s Education Studio, is built with "preexisting park resources, including scrap materials stored on site, which will be incorporated into the structural grid of the walls and roof." For the past few months, they've been constructing the folly and its grand opening shouldn't be missed!
Zoning New York Scavenger Hunt | July 9, recommended by Alexander Walter
Woohoo, it's the centennial anniversary of New York City’s zoning resolution (the first of its kind in any American city), so why not celebrate it with a fun scavenger hunt that leads urban adventurers to significant sites throughout the five boroughs? With more than sixty clues out there waiting to be discovered, this citywide quest will find its grand finale on the terrace of the Museum of the City of New York overlooking Central Park. Not too bad for a zoning event, eh?

There's still time to see “A Japanese Constellation” at MoMA, now that it's open until the end of July! Don't miss your chance to see the works of some of today's most acclaimed Japanese architects all in one space. Focusing on the enduring influence of Pritzker laureates Toyo Ito and SANAA's Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, the retrospective features a collection of drawings, models, and images by Sou Fujimoto, Akihisa Hirata, Junya Ishigami, and others.
