Wilmington officials say the cancellation of an architect business conference due to HB2 will cost the city nearly $1 million.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced Monday it will nix its three-day conference scheduled for later this fall at the Wilmington Convention Center. AIA officials cited the passage of HB2 as the reason for the cancellation.

Being a bigot isn't just ridiculous—it's costly! Supposedly pro-business Republican senators in North Carolina have managed to drive away Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, and now the AIA thanks to their passage of HB2, which Towelroad describes as a bill that "bans all local LGBT rights ordinances in the state" while introducing "some of the most draconian anti-trans 'bathroom regulations' in the U.S." Talk about pissing it all away...

I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
I'll admit, I don't like everyone cheering on the boycott-all events in cities no more or less trans-friendly than comparable ones across the country. Not to get overly political, but a lot of these bills happen in states like NC and Indiana because liberal/left Americans just don't vote in state elections. If they did, bills like HB2 wouldn't happen.
Yes, the conservatives who passed this bill are the REAL victims here, because dey dun git elected! Damn those liberal leftists who never vote and would have stopped the bill from getting passed, its really THEIR fault for this fiasco!
