In any discussion of poor doors, newly urbanized class structures, or gentrification, there's a spot for J.G. Ballard's "High-Rise" (1975). Check out the trailer for the film adaptation, directed by Ben Wheatley, below.

Oooooh I can't wait!!!! Architecture, chaos, tribalism, and naked Tom Hiddleston all in one movie!
Looks like it's going to be one worth watching.
As soon as the original trailer came out I read the book in preparation. I had not read it previously. It's sick and wonderful.
Wow. looks awesome.
I must see this, I love how fonts and graphic design can be such a powerful tool. It seems to be a bit overlooked in architecture and place making, but they flog it for everything it's worth in the movie world. Couldn't help but remember the effect from the movie They Live...
i need to become a psychic or stop trying to write a blog-- everytime I have a fucking idea to develop........or am i surfing the web and books in my sleep and then wake up and think, wow that could be a cool thing to learn about and investigate.......it looks awesome, this flick, and for christ sake Max Weber beat me to it -by a 100 years - the Protestant Work Ethic (christian Calvinism as an economic model)..........Marx explained at one point England was the most advanced State in the world, this movie looks like its in England and oddly enough reminded me of the way the government housing was portrayed in in that movie about Englands most notorious criminal Charles Bronson.....and it feels like Gattaca meets Clockwork Orange in a tower........
