This seemingly obvious idea, is a trojan horse, and a bad precedent to set. SF should not be let off the hook, and force other communities to deal with the problems of SF.
Let's build a ghetto across the bay and then put up gates to keep them in their place if they don't have jobs or "legitimate" reasons to visit the outside richer whiter world.
This is a civil rights redlining lawsuit waiting to happen.
The rich hipster technology workers have just got to get used to living in close proximity to people who are different than they are. Those scary "others" who play loud music, don't respect the reservations they make to control a public park or other things they don't get or chose to remain ignorant on.
Poverty, particularly Urban poverty is not something you can pack up and ship out. Someone has to walk your dog, clean your house, serve your food.
This is a half baked idea and it needs to be thrown out as soon as possible.
Over and OUT
