Brave the Storm - Aguantar La Tempestad
As annual typhoons continue to rage in the Philippines, the "Brave the Storm" project has been working to bring to affected communities an improved withstanding aerodynamic shelter based on traditional bamboo building techniques.
This collaborative project by architects Hee Jun Sim and Su Jeong Park of Archiworks with Dutch artist Karel Stoop features a rotunda-shaped outdoor pavilion (to be designed by Sim and Park) whose inner walls will showcase Stoop's abstract paintings. If all runs smoothly, the pavilion is expected to be open to the public in May 2016.
In the search for alternative solutions to alleviate homelessness, Project Gregory thought of creating living spaces behind billboard advertisements. The creators are currently designing a residential space for two people, complete with basic necessities to live comfortably.
Vertical City : A Solution for Sustainable Living
In this 619-page book, architects Kenneth King and Kellogg Wong interviewed more than 30 of the world's renowned architects, engineers, urban designers, microbiologists, and transportation and sustainability experts about the Vertical City concept -- which continues to be an ongoing topic of discussion.
The Danish-designed Sitpack is a new product in the world of portable, foldable chairs. Encased in a coffee mug-looking container, the Sitpack can apparently fit in your pocket. The ergonomic chair could be helpful for outdoor activities that involve lots of waiting around. Not too surprisingly, the campaign surpassed its pledged 450,000DKK goal with over 1 million DKK.
WoodyMac - Magnetic Building Blocks
WoodyMac is a family-fun set of magnetic buildings blocks that comes in enough shapes and sizes to create a mini city. Funding was wildly successful, but it had to unfortunately be cancelled for the meantime while the product's magnets are tested under new legal standards.

LAMPP is a quaint balloon-shaped lampshade that uses a smartphone as its light source. Downloading the LAMPP app lets you change the color to help create the right atmosphere. This could make for a nice gift.
