People often compare Minecraft to LEGO; both support open-ended creation (once you’ve mastered the crafting table, you can build nearly anything) and, of course, they share an essential blockiness. But I think this comparison is misleading, because a LEGO set always includes instructions, and Minecraft comes with none.
Minecraft is a game about creation, yes. But it is just as much a game about secret knowledge.

My son uses Minecraft as a design and drawing program, and he consistently impresses me with how creative he can be with cubic blocks and recipes. It's a video game I have zero qualms about him playing.
I play it, it's a ton of fun, even aside from just building, although that's my favorite part. It sounds silly, but it truly is a problem solving game.
my kids are obsessed with this game...its much better than all those violent shooting games
