The Miazi Bari Jame Mosque located at Chandpur is a community mosque designed and built to serve the small community of Professor para with active participation from the locals. We created a space to perform religious rituals comfortably and respectfully without any distraction and the entire perception of the mosque derives from the cultural and environmental context. The scale, proportion, size and ultimately the simple form comes from the decisions based on our cognitive understanding of the local context and people. The mosque embodies the humility and benevolence of the surrounding to engage with its users without coming off as a building that is extravagant, iconic or foreign to the context.
