For this project I extrapolated the form and function
of the scales of a Red Lionfish to design a
simply analog unit. Using the analog and further
developing it, I designed a flexible surface like the
“skin” of the Red Lionfish. This skin-like surface
was strung up The surface to create hammock-
like chairs that shape to the body of the
user.
This project went through two different versions
of attachments beginning with ball and socket
joints and ending with rings to string the analog
units together into a surface.
