Kozatch.com - Architecture & Design

In 2012 Miles started Kozatch Design, offering architectural design, drafting and rendering for music festivals, start-ups, real estate and design firms. Through contract work between New York, New Orleans and abroad, Kozatch Design specializes in production design and branding for built works and competition entries. Some clients include Live Nation, HBO, Spotify, Vitamin Water, the Mill, and Barnes Coy Architects.

Qualifications

In 2015 Miles received his Master of Architecture from Tulane University, and worked for 3+ years as a project architect, leading 3 new-construction projects for Barnes Coy Architects, an award-winning architecture firm based in New York City and the Hamptons [link]. Miles has 8+ years of exposure in the field, including his internship experience. Miles is currently pursuing licensure in New York State

Digital Fabrication

In 2020 Miles worked as a designer for special projects at Bednark Studio at the Brooklyn Navy Yards. During his time there, he worked with brands like Nike and Accenture to design, engineer, and fabricate massive interactive installations and sculptures for events and festivals with a heavy focus on experiential design. Other clients include Foster + Partners, Milk Makeup, David Yurman, and Bronx Science High School.

In 2015 Miles was a lead technician at MILLHAUS, the Digital Fabrication Lab at Tulane University of Architecture, working with students and local professionals to bring in revenue for the university, and exploring the limits of the CNC Mill: working with plastics, metals, wood, and composite materials such as corian. Final products included museum presentation models, eco-furniture, restaurant & retail interiors, custom masonry molds, skateboards, sculptures, and design/build installations.

Miles' experience and interest in digital fabrication led him to the Porto Design Factory in Portugal, where he was invited as a guest critic, and to Montevideo, Uruguay, as a guest of the FabLab at FADU.

Working Abroad

Miles studied Brazilian Film & Literature at Tulane, and traveled to do field work and conduct interviews for his Architectural Masters thesis in Vidigal and Rocinha, the two most populated slums in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2019, he worked and managed volunteer construction projects in Puerto Rico.

Miles speaks Spanish and Portuguese, and has traveled extensively in South America and Europe. His dream is to use his experience to teach sustainable design and construction techniques, and make architectural knowledge accessible.
