With two generations of experience in the New York City design, development and construction fields, Meltzer/Mandl Architects has a solid record of designs that enhance the value of real estate transactions in the residential, cultural and institutional markets. Expert knowledge of zoning and building code allows us to maximize the potential of any property, while carefully gauging the cost of construction from early in the planning stage to maintain budget control.
We are skilled listeners and use project constraints to fuel powerful design solutions. Our award winning designs bring a timeless sense of confidence and taste, which we follow through down to the smallest detail.
Our simple, no-detours philosophy is responsible for a long-history of successful work. We have a disciplined five-step approach:
Meltzer/Mandl is widely-recognized for its numerous New York City affordable and market-rate housing projects. The design of Melrose Court, a high-density, low-rise, 265-unit affordable housing community on three city blocks (4.5 acres) located in the South Bronx received the “1994 Pillars of the Industry Award” for the Best Multifamily Housing Project in the country.
The firm has been honored for design excellence by the American Institute of Architects, the NY Society of Architects, National Association of Home Builders, the Society of American Registered Architects and others for projects such as 57 Bond Street, Roscoe C. Brown Jr. Apartments, and Gateway Transit Village.
