The client for this project wanted to move his mother from her existing residence onto  his property in San Mateo, California. The client requested that the new structure assumed a similar style, exterior material use, and color of the existing residence on the property. The new residence is situated on a slopping hillside of eucalyptus trees calling for the residence to open up to the extensive views to the east of the house accompanied by a large deck for viewing and lounging. A space for wine making and storage was also formed below the residence to allow for the old and new residents of the property to commingle in a shared family past-time.
