Homelessness is a difficult concept to tackle, a shelter an even harder one. Is it a home or not a home? How welcoming can it be if the residents will eventually be forced to leave? And can a shelter have too much “architecture”? It seems as if there are always more questions then there are answers when it comes to homelessness and the shelters provided. The here aim was to create a building that welcomes those in need as well as protects, the sort of protection that not only provides shelter from the elements but from a judgmental public eye.
