Habitat for Humanity single-family houses

Designed to be build mostly by volunteers and to be sold to low-income families on special conditions through Habitat for Humanity, the house responds to very strict criteria in terms of cost and ease of construction. The living and dining areas are offset to the side of the house to allow simultaneous access to, and views of, both the street and the back yard – an important design constraint given the intention for the project to create an architecture that would contribute to safety and positive social interactions in a difficult neighbourhood.
