About

About Me...

I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota's College of Design. I received my Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree with focuses in Sustainability Studies and Urban Planning. At the University I was the recipient of the distinguished Jacob J. Liebenberg Scholarship for design excellence and academic achievement. Further, academia has provided me the fortitude to study the architecture, landscapes and cities of Latin America and Asia. Each adding invaluable exposure to alternative cultures, styles, and aesthetics.

Objective...

The potential of architecture is powerful. Architecture not only asserts a physical presence on every human life, its influence extends beyond the physical. The power to influence the human experience whether that be psychological, physiological, emotional or spiritual manifests itself in every built environment. Thus the practice of architecture carries great responsibility.

Architecture must be political, engaged, active, passive, immersive, responsive; at times it must be immediate and pressing while at other times yielding and submissive. It is a field of complexity which extends from the minute curve of a doorhandle to the elaborate composition of an informal community. It is this multitude of scales and disciplines that energizes architecture. It is this energy that intrigues me. No matter the scale or field, the ability to partake in the process of our built environments is my pursuit.
