Design for a ‘LEED Gold’ Culinary school building, schematic design was done by myself and other team memebers comprising of architects, interior designers and construction managers.
Development of the 'Building Envelope' was a solo project but as an extension of the above project. My focus was on maximizing daylighting, natural ventilation while being aesthetically pleasing and inviting. I used an energy modelling software called ‘Sefaira’ to guide my design development, as I could track my energy consumption and simulate daylight levels with every change I make. It gave me a good understanding of how each and every change affects the performance of the building. Keeping with the organic theme, I used natural materials and vegetation as a feature to enhance its connection to nature and perform other functions simultaneously.
