The art village is located on the main throughfare of the town of Tazpur, India. Surrounded by groves of Casuarina plantations, the magnetism to traditional values is very much evident in this area. Taking inspiration from Finland‘s ‘Re-Creation’ installation in the Venice Biennale 2014, the exhibition space is designed as a dialogue between installations and graphic modes of art as well as between artist and visitor.
The focal element in design is a ramp which connects the artist dwellings with the main exhibition area. It leads to permanent exhibition areas formed as a result of minimalist geometry transformations. Art forms housed in this agora are portrayed as complementary to one another: the underlying creativity is the same, it is the interpretation that varies.
