University Dorms at UCA

Proposal for a mixed-use building for a commercial space and university housing, the latter being the main focus of the project.

The main facade is composed of balconies or terraces of different sizes, with some disorder, allowing dynamism between its forms and cantilevers.

As for the color palette and textures, exposed concrete complements the white tones of the building with accents in different shades of brown and orange, providing a warm feeling in the lower areas.

The retail area is distributed in a double-height commercial plaza located on the ground floor, in which it is possible to adapt to different sizes of shops or restaurants, according to needs. Also, it is feasible to take advantage of the amplitude of interior space for possible mezzanines.

The commercial or public area is entered through a predominant staircase complemented by a universal access ramp.

The housing area or dorm units are located on the upper floors, each with their respective common space, study area, elevator, and two emergency stairs at each end of the corridors. The common space is equipped with a kitchen, dining area, and living room.

Private parking spaces are located in the lower basement with a separate entrance and parking lots for shops are placed adjacent to the commercial plaza.
