S.L.O.W. Epitome is a proposal for the rural part of the city Piacenza. Main purpose is to create an epitome of a sustainable lifestyle with urban and rural elements. Creating a living space with low to none metabolic rift and a supportive example where a sustainable outcome is only possible with simpler lifestyles and that is possible.
Placed in the close outskirts of the city Piacenza which already contains multiple life styles, and epitome of a hybrid lifestyle is purposed. Analyzing the soil use with bringing the balance between forestation , hemp farming and agriculture including the scattered built environment, respecting the rhythm of growth and pattern patches of the city.
The only way to reach a sustainable “development” is to limit the development and leaving the idea of unlimited growth. Big sustainable ideas, infrastructures, projects etc. is only useful with a basis of a simple life style. It is possible and need examples in this time of the Planet Earth. A simple life is possible and sustainable when the cycles of nature supported and respected.
