In a rapidly urbanizing city like that of Shanghai China immense networks of highways, roads, metro stops and pedestrian thoroughfares are being created to connect people across great distances. Throughout this network exist urban nodes operating at varying intensities and scales. Like that of, Lujiazui, Yu Yuan and Jingan Temple, these nodes in particular are hotspots of local and tourist activity and often contain large scale convergencies of infrastructure. In essence the project seeks not only to develop an understanding of the urban node within the context of Shanghai, but also begin to challenge preconceptions and reveal new opportunities at a multitude of scales.
