Located in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Hotel Contenedor is a set of thirty six independent rooms of fifteen square meters each in sixteen shipping container. The hotel is operated by Turística Advisors, and is established within a surface of three hectares. The program includes an outdoor tapas bar, a pool, an outdoor lounge area and a parking lot for forty cars.

One of the principal premises was not to interfere directly the land, as part of the philosophy of the project is to respect nature in every possible way. By using ready-to-install shipping containers we create an EcoLoft, by installing the containers on steel beams to avoid contact with the soil.

The approach of the design of the room comes from the concept of a “deluxe” camping house, covering the guest’s basic needs, being in contact with nature and the environment.
