Fifth-year Thesis: Adaptive reuse, seismic retrofit, mixed-use development
Over a nine-month period, I delved into the linearity of architectural thought and beauty: intently focused on modernism and how it fits into classical thought and architecture, the city, its context and its unfolding history of beauty and belonging.
I translated this study by focusing on bringing daylight to the San Luis Obispo creek which was built over. In doing so, the intention was to expand upon other successful mixed-use developments and harmonize the city’s pedestrian fabric by moving parking and cars away from the city core.
