ABOUT THE ROLE

SCAPE is looking for a well-rounded junior landscape designer or landscape architect to join our team in New York City. Ideal candidates will have 1-3 three years of experience in the landscape architecture field, with an emphasis on technical documentation. An interest in planting design and the technical development of coastal resilience projects is a plus. Preferred candidates will also exhibit a broad range of skills and interests including, but not limited to 3D modeling and visualizations, diagrammatic representations, illustrative renderings, hand sketching, and iterative design. All candidates should be highly organized and eager to work in a collaborative, energetic environment on projects through all stages of design. They should be self-motivated, detail oriented, and possess good communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

A successful candidate will possess:

• Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field from an accredited University program.
• 1-3 years working in the landscape architecture profession
• Strong communication and presentation skills for internal collaboration.
• Collaborative disposition and iterative workflow with an eye for good design.
• Experience working on documentation sets and interest in the technical development of complex and unique projects. An enthusiasm for planting design and coastal resilience projects is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience producing design concepts and polished graphics.
• Exceptional visualization and 3D modeling skills with high comfortability in digital workflows.
• Interest in and functional understanding of all phases of design from concept through construction observation.
• High level of proficiency in computer programs and cross-platform integrations including but not limited to MS Office, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, Lumion, and the Adobe Suite
