Andrew Wilkinson - Architect, is a flourishing architecture and design practice dedicated to modernist architecture and contemporary design. Located in Soho, NY, we are a small, committed firm who work together in an open office space and maintain an informal, engaged and vibrant office culture. Our work consists primarily of custom high-end residential design projects and artful hospitality & commercial build-outs. Current projects include ground-up homes in eastern Long Island, Atlantic Beach and the Jersey Shore, an apartment combination in the West Village, a public beach club in Deal, New Jersey, and a private bar in Guatemala.

We are looking for an intermediate architect with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and minimum 5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate should be passionate about architecture and interior design and possess both a strong work ethic and a strong point of view. 

Mandatory Skills:

  • Full proficiency with AutoCad LT, SketchUp and rendering plugins, and Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop and Indesign.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to work independently.
  • Sound understanding of the technical processes and methods of assembling buildings.
  • Advanced construction document experience.
  • Full understanding of interior drawings and millwork detailing.
  • Sound understanding of the IBC and experience with interpreting local building and energy codes.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing filing, bid, and contract document drawing sets.
  • Creating models and renderings for client presentations.
  • Working directly with principal architect from schematics through project completion.
  • Research new materials and material systems.
  • Accompanying principal architect during onsite construction administration. 
  • Writing field reports and drawing construction sketches.
