·         JSA/MIXdesign is an award-winning, New York-based studio composed of two overlapping branches. JSA is a full-service architecture studio specializing in institutional and residential projects. MIXdesign is an inclusive design think-tank and consultancy dedicated to making everyday residential and institutional building types accessible and welcoming for people of different ages, genders, races, religions, and abilities.

Who are we looking for?

·         We are seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Studio Manager to support both sides of our office. The Studio Manager will work closely with Principal Joel Sanders and senior personnel on administrative and communications duties, as well as support Joel Sanders as his executive assistant. About 2/3 of the position will consist of administrative and executive assistant duties, and 1/3 marketing and communications. 

·         The ideal candidate will be reliable and organized, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.


·         Day-to-Day Office Administration: Answering the office phone, monitoring the office general inquiries email, supervising the physical office space.

·         Executive Assistant: Calendar management, travel coordination, and supporting Joel’s teaching responsibilities at Yale School of Architecture.

·         Marketing and Communications: Working with Joel and JSA/MIX Associates to draft and distribute E-Blasts, social media updates, project posts, and website maintenance.

·         Engagements & Lectures: Assist Joel in the scheduling, coordination, and invoicing related to invited speaking events and lectures.

Skills & Requirements

·         A bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in architecture, communications, graphic design, business or marketing.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Fluency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Google Drive a must.

·         Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Rhino/Sketch-up a plus.

·         2-3 years of professional office experience in administrative or communications role (architecture/design related a plus)
