About the Role
We are seeking a Designer with experience in residential design & construction. In this role you will work within a small, dedicated team on all aspects of designing and constructing factory-built Accessory Dwelling Units and Ground-up Development Projects. Daily tasks will range from developing concept diagrams, design documents, and visualizations to performing site visits & producing supplemental construction documents for projects in the Los Angeles Area. You will gain extensive hands-on experience from concept through construction.
This is a full-time salaried position with competitive benefits and the ability to work primarily from home during the Safer at Home order.
Responsibilities
The ability to perform site measurements and create as-built drawings and other supplemental construction drawings with a fast turnaround
Independently set up and produce plans, elevations, sections, details and develop 3D views & visualizations through the Design Development phase
Develop options and make revisions to drawings from often varying sources of feedback
Produce graphics materials and images for presentations, marketing collateral, and/or environmental signage
Research materials and perform take-offs
Understanding of building materials, wall assemblies and construction methods
Basic understanding of building & zoning codes (especially pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units)
Stellar project management and time management skills
Assume personal responsibility and accountability for set deadlines and quality of work
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Actively participate in quality improvements of our units or manufacturing process
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture minimum
Professional experience in the architecture field (1-2 years) in a collaborative design firm
ArchiCAD experience in an office environment
Adobe Creative Suite experience.
Strong interest in prefab/modular construction
Ability to drive to project site locations throughout Los Angeles or our warehouse in South Los Angeles as needed
Currently residing in the Los Angeles area.
