Position
Job Captain with 5 to 7 years of experience to design, develop, manage, and implement multifamily housing projects with JKA's modular housing partner.

Applicants will have a passion for designing and detailing constructible design documents and permit sets. They will collaborate with team members across a range of disciplines and firms to create technical and design solutions for missing middle affordable dwelling.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the planning, design, production, and construction of one or more modular multi-family residential projects.
  • Ensuring that projects are well designed, detailed, code-compliant, coordinated, and administered within agreed upon schedules.
  • Working and communicating with team members to coordinate work products during the entire design and project process.
  • Implementing quality control of projects through scheduling of critical paths and tasks, review of work products in relationship to task identification, and reporting.
  • Coordinating consultants, vendors, and other project partners.
  • Developing, managing, coordinating, and mentoring less-experienced professional staff.

Education

  • First professional degree.

Certification(s)

  • Working towards licensure or licensed architect.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant multi-family residential work or equal utilizing Revit or similar as well as other programs utilized for the design and implementation of architectural projects.

Key Skills

  • Design, visualization, and technical competence as evidenced by quality of individual and team work on previous projects.
  • Working knowledge of building and planning codes, code research, and use of codes.
  • Experience implementing the construction phase of architectural services.
  • Capacity to multi-task on all aspects of one or more projects.
  • Self-organizer and self-manager of work, tasks, and schedules.
  • Clear communicator of design concepts and details, work and task status, and milestones in both written and visual formats to team members.
  • Ability to oversee the work and mentoring of less-experienced team members to meet Project goals and objectives.
  • Work Authorization: all JKA employees need to demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S.
