Fluidity Design Consultants is a leading edge, Los Angeles-based water feature design and engineering firm with an international practice. The firm collaborates with many of the world’s most respected architects, landscape architects, and developers in the realization of creative and technically refined, architecturally-scaled water features for all kinds of projects.

Fluidity is currently seeking an experienced Project Designer with a foundation in Architecture or Landscape Architecture, and emphases in design development, coordination, specialty assemblies and fine detailing. The position requires a motivated, professional personality, developed design skills, team-oriented interpersonal skills and a commitment to producing top quality work. Ability in Revit is required. The designer will receive guidance from Studio Principals while collaborating as a team member with other Fluidity designers and outside design professionals.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD

Proficiency in Revit

Strong knowledge of Rhino and Sketchup

Strong knowledge of Adobe creative suite software

General knowledge of both Apple and/or Windows Operating Systems

Understanding of architectural drawing and production processes

Strong visual, verbal and written communication skills

Prior experience in an Architect’s or Landscape Architect’s office

A license in architecture or landscape architecture is a plus but not required. 

Daily tasks may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Create project design drawings in AutoCAD or Revit during SD, DD, CD phases

Assist Studio Principals with drawing package releases

Participate in design workshops & brainstorming sessions

Create 3D Model and illustrations

Attend phone or web conferences with clients (sometimes after or before normal working hours)

Design Analysis and conceptualization

Materials Research and specification

Coordinate with Engineers and other Consultants

Quality Control procedures

Experience Level Required: 5-10 years

Education Required: Architecture or Landscape Architecture degree. Graduate degree a plus, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary commensurate with experience

Applicant does not need to be based in Los Angeles
