The company unites medical care (e.g., primary care and other speciality physicians) with wellness providers (e.g., acupuncturists, chiropractors, nutritionists) in one beautiful and hospitable space. In prime locations across the country, HealthQuarters will provide patients with a curated combination of healthcare and wellness services and consumer health brands with a new level of personalized, empathetic care. HealthQuarters is backed by Redesign Health, a healthcare innovation platform that incubates, funds, and launches businesses that elevate the patient experience and empower people to live their healthiest lives.

About the Role

HealthQuarters’ Construction Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of all elements in our physical locations.  This includes, but is not limited to: specialty millwork, plumbing fixtures, lighting, furniture, medical equipment, construction materials and construction finishes.  You are the bridge that helps our brand achieve our design aspirations, by providing construction value at scale - bringing custom elements to life in a manner which is replicable, reliable and cost-conscious.

You will work hand-in-hand with HealthQuarters’ internal Development, Finance and Legal teams, as well as external global and domestic suppliers, to establish stand-alone and bulk contracts that support our nationwide rollout of locations.

Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Spearhead procurement and inventory planning to support the Development Team’s rollout objective

  • Work collaboratively with the Development and Finance Teams to establish a site-by-site cost model

  • Maintain compliance with HealthQuarters’ spending policies (and help to establish new policies as the brand expands)

  • Help to establish and rigorously maintain project budgets

  • Develop a comprehensive vendor qualification document and hold potential partners accountable to those requirements

  • Create an easily-navigable vendor rating system and robust rating criteria

  • Partner with the Legal team to establish clear SOWs and subsequently create bulletproof contracts that maintain vendor accountability and mitigate cost overruns

  • Continually seek out opportunities to deliver cost savings and increase production and execution efficiencies, including the management of project specific internal and external post-mortems

  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors

  • Maintain excellent Vendor and Supplier relationships to ensure a high level of quality, service, and competitiveness

  • Assist the Design and Development team in preconstruction and product/fabrication due diligence, as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain or related field

  • 5+ years in construction-focused procurement - may want to call out negotiation skills

  • 5+ years’ experience with domestic and international suppliers

  • Familiarity with international freight and shipping logistics

  • Strong analytical skills, with an interest in design (preferable)

  • Crystal-clear communication skills

  • Equipped with a broad network of trusted fabricators, suppliers, brokers and relevant vendors

  • Ability to multitask, think several steps ahead, work under pressure and set priorities

  • Excel wizard, familiarity with Pro-Core, AutoCAD a plus

  • Experience working in an early-stage startup environment is a plus
