Woods Bagot is GROWING and seeking a Senior Technical Project Architect to ensure efficient day to day management of projects. The Technical Project Architect takes responsibility within and outside the Studio for the management of a project, including the management of staff, consultants and other resources involved in the project.

The Technical Project Architect will contribute to the vision and objectives of Woods Bagot and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Maintain regular/day-to-day contact with the client during the project and after handover.
  • Liaise constantly with the Studio Management Stream on the status of current and future resource requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Project Principal/ Studio Manager, plan the project from a financial and strategic viewpoint, and monitor performance against that plan. Take immediate action when adverse variation occurs.
  • Report regularly to the Project Principal/ Studio Manager on project performances against the strategic, financial and time planning requirements, on any necessary corrective action needed or on action taken.
  • In conjunction with the Project Principal/ Studio Manager, produce a project plan and implement the plan through all design stages.
  • Monitor the technical design performance of the project design against the requirements of the appropriate statutory authorities.
  • Advise the Project Principal/ Studio Manager immediately upon becoming aware of any circumstances that could lead to a claim for non-performance or negligence against Woods Bagot.
  • Deal directly with the client in a supporting role to the Project Principal/ Studio Manager and establish and maintain the day to day management of the production and delivery of Woods Bagot's services.
  • Direct project staff in the production of the services contracted for under the project conditions of engagement in accordance with a project plan developed in conjunction with the Project Principal/ Studio Manager.
  • Review all project correspondence, meeting notes and other data to keep fully informed on the project.
  • Ensure that inward correspondences are directed to the appropriate people and that a prompt and adequate responses are made to the concerns raised.
  • Monitor the performance of sub-consultants on the project for whom we are responsible and the taking of immediate steps to overcome nonperformance or other difficulties.
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting upon the performance of staff resources assigned to the project.
  • Participate in monthly work in progress reviews and report to the Studio Manager on the project's progress against program, fee, deliverables and scope.

Work Experience / Technical Skills:

  • A proven record of project delivery, in a hands-on and supervisory capacity, on time and within budget.
  • Deep understanding of design best practice, tools, techniques, market trends and product innovation.
  • Understanding of generally applied procurement processes in the local market.
  • Proven track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor or Masters of Architecture Degree required
  • Architectural licencing preferred
