We are SITU, an unconventional architecture practice using design, research, and fabrication for creative and social impact.  We are seeking a full-time Associate Project Manager for our fabrication division to start immediately.

About Us:

SITU was founded in 2005, in Brooklyn, New York, by four friends studying architecture at the Cooper Union. We’ve shaped our practice out of the multi-disciplinary style of our education, and have grown through clients who value a progressive approach to problem-solving.  We now employ a staff of 40+ people.

Our process is client-specific, adaptive and driven by a diversity of deep knowledge, untethered from any stylistic or formal agenda. This allows us to work out of bounds, using new tools of architecture to generate unique outcomes.

Our practice is composed of three divisions—Studio, Research and Fabrication—that work collaboratively while providing individual services. This keeps prototyping, research and development, and hands-on craft elemental to our creative process.

About the Position:

Because we are a unique and multi-disciplinary practice, we are seeking a unique and multi-disciplinary teammate.  The primary role of the position is to create shop drawings, production drawings, and 3d modeling of complex fabrication projects in addition to assisting Project Managers in project administration and client management.  Additional duties include researching products/materials and fabrication oversight. Note that this isn’t an architectural designer position.

We offer great benefits, reasonable working hours, and the opportunity to support creative, thoughtful projects in a studio/shop environment.  Benefits include fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, company holidays, two weeks paid vacation, maternity/paternity leave, and supplemented CitiBike memberships.  Compensation commensurate with experience.

About You:

We don’t know you yet, but we imagine that you have a broad set of interests and skills, and that you wouldn’t be happy focusing on just one of them.  You’ve been in the working world for at least a couple years and are looking for a company to get excited about.

You are passionate about good work, fanatical about organization, and energized by new challenges.  You have strong computer and software skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and cleanly.  Rhinoceros 3d, Grasshopper, and the Google Suite are already part of your vocabulary. You can fluidly re-prioritize and work on multiple projects, and can solve problems on the fly.  You also know how to balance working independently while knowing when to ask for help.

Next Steps:

Please send an email to letting us know about yourself, what excites you about the opportunity, and what you can bring to the position.  Attach a resume, including 3 references as well as a portfolio, which illustrates your work. No phone calls please.
