Marketing Director

The Opportunity:

Kilograph is seeking a Marketing Director to support a growing office in directing the firm’s marketing materials, PR efforts, market research and client outreach / acquisition. A successful candidate has a strong interest in architecture and design with a demonstrated talent for marketing and communications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Marketing Strategy and Management:

    • Develop marketing strategy that translates corporate strategic objectives and plans into creative and effective marketing programs and materials

    • Create an annual Marketing Plan that clearly outlines campaigns, initiatives, and ways to measure effectiveness

    • Implement, support and facilitate the execution of Marketing Plan

    • Own and administer the marketing operations budget of the organization

    • Supervise activities of Marketing Coordinator and mentor his/her professional development

    • Conduct a weekly meeting to review initiatives with Management

  • Client Outreach and Engagement:

    • Develop and deliver insightful presentations to prospective clients as needed

    • Prepare and attend Conferences, Trade Shows, and other events as applicable

    • Distribute customer surveys and follow up as needed

    • Solicit customer testimonials periodically

  • Press:

    • Identify and manage media opportunities

    • Develop new and creative content to strategically leverage company assets and generate “buzz”

    • Craft press releases in coordination with the PR Consultant, Copywriters and Creative Directors

    • Manage Editorial Calendar and ensure aligned with company priorities

  • E-Marketing:

    • Oversee all social media efforts, including the creation of engaging and on-brand social content (articles, blog posts, videos, infographics)

    • Plan Social Media Posts and ensure aligned with company priorities

    • Maintain website and ensure all content is accurate and current

    • Send e-newsletters and marketing outreach mailings (MailChimp)

  • Market Research:

    • Stay on top of industry news and developments

    • Monitor competitors and industry leaders for emerging trends and hiring trends

  • Pursuits:

    • Work collaboratively with the firm’s leadership to track RFP/RFQs

    • Develop a Go/No Go pursuit strategy

    • Manage the proposal process, including drafting proposals and preparing responses to RFQ’s and RFP’s

    • Manage production schedule in terms of scope, priorities, timelines and resource availability

    • Keep team organized and updated on project status

  • Tracking:

    • Manage the CRM Platform (Workamajig) and ensure information in the marketing database is current and accurate (prospect, client and broker, project information)

    • Scan for Kilograph in the news and share mentions/publications within the office and online

    • Generate and distribute marketing reports with metrics, analytics, and cost of customer acquisition

    • Track proposals (RFP/RFQ) coming down the pipeline and respond when appropriate

    • Understand how marketing efforts influence and affect sales, identify KPIs and quantify ROI

  • Other:

    • Aid in Special Projects as needed


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the commercial real estate and/ or architecture industry

  • Strong creative thinking skills and the ability to contribute unique marketing ideas and strategies

  • Proven experience running marketing campaigns

The Marketing Director is a creative, motivated, and highly collaborative person. He/She is an excellent communicator, problem solver and action-oriented team player, with strong project management skills. The position requires excellent written, oral, and design communication skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven, quality-focused environment. Proficiency InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word a must. An eye for graphic style and quality, creative enthusiasm, and photography skills are preferred as well as experience developing compelling graphic presentations and engaging proposal documents.

This is a full-time position. Must possess all legal permits and visas required to work in the U.S. and be a Los Angeles area resident. Fluency in written and spoken English required.
