Margaret Sullivan Studio is a full service design firm specializing in designing the public library of the 21st century with an emphasis on visioning, space planning, programming, and strategic planning. Our Studio is a national leader in developing new models for public libraries and works with some of the most important public library clients throughout the country.

We are seeking a diligent Interior Designer to join our dynamic and fun studio. Ideal candidate is a critical thinker through the lens of community, placemaking, architecture, interior design and graphic design, and has a keen understanding in user-centered, human-centered and service design and design thinking.


  • A bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience, including documentation of FF&E packages and familiarity with all phases of the design process
  • Proficient in CAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, writing, design thinking, and user-centered approach to design
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Excellent “people skills”

Travel is required as we have library clients across the United States including in California, Texas, Utah, Florida and Maryland.
