Spacesmith, a New York City based architecture, planning and interior design firm is seeking a Business Development Coordinator with 3-5 years of experience to work with the senior firm members on sales, outreach and interface with potential clients and potential client resources. Our portfolio includes new construction, renovation and workplace design. Clients are typically corporate, commercial, retail, governmental and educational institutions.

The successful candidate will have experience with securing work and networking within the A/E/C industry. The candidate will work closely with firm leadership and the marketing team to develop business leads and make introductions. Effective communication and collaboration in a high profile, fast paced, self-motivated environment is essential. The candidate will be compatible with the culture of the firm and enthusiastically represent the firm in the marketplace. 



  • Bright college graduates with a significant understanding and love of architecture, design and sales.
  • 1-5 years of experience in an architecture, design or related firm.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with strong organizational, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft articulate emails and introduction letters.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel. Strong knowledge of Salesforce database or ability to master on the job.
  • Excellent research capabilities through the internet and other resources.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated and driven to set and achieve business development goals.
  • Previous involvement with industry related organizations (i.e. AIA, IIDA, Building Congress, IFMA, ULI, Corenet) 
  • People person comfortable with interacting in groups and participating in networking events.
  • Strong persuasion skills and a love of the hunt!
