Position Overview: SVA Interior Design is seeking an Interior Designer or Architect specializing in Interior Architecture and Interior Design to join our award-winning faculty. The position posting is for our Undergraduate 1st Year Freshman Course, Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Spring 2018. This course spans 1 semester and meets three (3) hours per session for fifteen (15) sessions. 

Computer-Aided Drafting and Design 

Spring 2018 semester: 3 studio credits Posted for Spring 2018, Computer-Aided Drafting and Design serves as an introduction to computer-aided design and drafting (CAD), exploring ideas for layers, line types, dimensions and annotation using AutoCAD.  Approaching drawings as a visual communication tool, study revolves around assignments that contain various types of plans, elevations and sections of an interior space.

Qualifications:

  • BFA or MFA or its equivalent in interior design, architecture or a related field
  • LEED certification preferred
  • College-level teaching experience

  • NCIDQ certification or registered architect or its equivalent
  • Strong skills/knowledge in the technical aspects of building design and construction 

The mission of the School of Visual Arts BFA Interior Design is to educate the next generation of interior designers with special emphasis on the conceptual, creative and design leadership aspects of the interior design profession over routine practice.
