Our DTLA office is searching for a Business Development Representative to provide support for the Business Development Director.

 The Role:

  • Generate new business while simultaneously maintaining and building long-term client relationships.
  • Aggressively pursue new clients in targeted sectors including seniors, student and affordable housing and selected institutional markets and provide Partners and Principals with introductory meetings and closing opportunities.
  • Qualify prospective clients to develop quality business opportunities for the company.
  • Attends pre-proposal conferences and participates in the development of proposal strategy. 
  • Determine and document prospective client needs, performing in-depth needs analysis and prospect qualification.
  • Identify appropriate architectural services that meet prospect’s requirements.
  • Communicate prospect needs to Principals focusing on prospect’s pain and/or areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain consistent contact with clients, expand, and nurture relationships. Generate referrals from existing clients.
  • Actively participate in networking activities to establish and maintain both industry and additional contacts that lead to referral sales
  • Assists Leadership with creating strategic alliances (professional design firms, contractors, developers, etc.) to better position the firm for success in achieving targets.


  • Established industry relationships in the LA/SoCal areas in housing and/or institutional markets.
  • Sociable, strategic, and driven with an entrepreneurial flair combined with strong project management skills with the ability to think intuitively.
  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, psychology, or liberal arts.
  • 5-7 years of business development / marketing / sales experience directed at the C-level with primary focus in architectural related services.
  • Established industry relationships in the LA/SoCal areas in housing and/or institutional markets.
  • Demonstrable experience in prospecting, lead generation, promoting and selling Architectural Professional Services in a competitive market.
  • Strong oral, written, and verbal and presentation skills in the English language are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and CRM systems ACT!, Deltek Vision.
  • Must be available for non-regular hours for networking, meetings, and events; ability / willingness to travel (including overnight travel).
  • Ability to present complex issues/data with high level of clarity and impact.
