Withee Malcolm Architects, LLP, an award winning design firm in Southern California, is seeking experienced architectural Job Captains for full time positions in our Los Angeles (Torrance) office’s commercial and/or multi-family residential division.

Job Captain applicants should have the technical and leadership abilities to plan, organize and manage the efforts of a production team to produce high quality construction documents within an allotted time and budget.  They should also be skilled in managing client and consultant relationships.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Professional degree in Architecture (Architectural registration preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years experience in an architectural office setting working on multi-family residential or commercial/industrial new construction and improvement projects.
  • Focus on quality in all aspects of the work, from initial presentations through documentation and delivery of architectural services
  • Design in a variety of architectural styles
  • Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards.
  • Understanding of structural, MEP and other design related disciplines
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in utilizing Autodesk Revit for completed projects
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD (recent releases), SketchUp and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of local/state codes and ability to check for code compliance
  • The ability to successfully complete the plan check and revisions process with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in construction observation (in office and field)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Architectural registration in California and/or NCARB certification
  • LEED Certification
