The UMF (Family Medical Units) are the first level of health care in the IMSS (Mexican Social Security Institute) system. They are the most direct contact among the mexican insured population and health services.
The project aims to create a building that in its simplicity and sobriety in form, function and materials, dignify the image of social security, provide a reflection of cleanliness and allow greater fluidity in their routes.
It is formed by three parallel volumes - outmoded - faced, conceived as full - empty - full. This approach allows to earn as much warmth and light in the center through ventilated double height courtyards, which also incorporate internal life within them and are used as large lobbies and waiting rooms.
