Hilton Garden Inn

Located in New York’s Jamaica neighborhood and adjacent to the Jamaica Transit Hub, the hotel is a transit oriented project that provides another link in the MTA LIRR JFK public transportation system. The hotel is a 28-story, 125,000 sq. ft. building that stands as the tallest building in the vicinity. The hotel has 241 guest rooms, a restaurant, ground floor and roof bars, a gym, a pool area, and an outdoor terrace. The goal in designing this space was to set an example for future architecture in the area. The tower floats above a glass 40 foot base that contains the lobby, bars, pool and public spaces. The 4th floor roof terrace is a green roof, tying in a proposal for a park going up around the corner and hinting at all of the incredible outdoor spaces that New York has to offer. Similarly, the roof deck overlooks the city with unobstructed views, as the guest rooms also have large windows to make each room bright and frame the Manhattan skyline. The guest pool opens up to the street with views of the nearby train station and developing surrounding areas.
